Our Guide to Choosing Your Perfect Entry Door

Welcome to the world of entry doors! At Bruin Remodeling Group, we believe your door is more than just a functional element, it's a statement piece that reflects your personality and lifestyle. For over 40 years, we've been installing doors that offer long-lasting beauty, durability and energy efficiency.

Materials

When it comes to choosing a door, the first step is to consider which material suits your needs.  At Bruin Remodeling Group we offer two entry door material options, Fiberglass and Steel. Choosing between the two depends on your priorities regarding durability, maintenance, energy efficiency, security and aesthetics.

Fiberglass

We offer insulated fiberglass doors that capture the authentic look and feel of wood grain combined with the weatherability, longevity, and maintenance-free benefits of durable fiberglass. Or if a smooth finish is what you’re looking for that is available as well. Here are some key features to consider when contemplating a fiberglass door.

Beauty: An exterior fiberglass wood grain door provides the most authentic-looking wood grain textures and can accommodate various door glass enhancements that improve curb appeal and offers a much more detailed design than a steel door.

Energy Efficiency: Exterior fiberglass entry doors are engineered to be highly energy efficient. They are designed to keep the cold out in the winter and heat out in the summer.

Durability & Maintenance: Fiberglass entry doors are extremely durable and do not shrink, warp, split, crack or delaminate. This makes them ideal for harsh climates. Fiberglass doors offer the lowest maintenance, resisting denting and scratching, and can be cleaned with mild soap and water.

Security: The solid construction of fiberglass doors provides significant security over wood doors and are equipped with a 16-gauge reinforcement plate in the jamb.

Steel

We also offer insulated steel entry doors. Here are some key features to consider when contemplating a steel door.

Beauty: Available in both smooth or woodgrain textures in multiple colors.

Energy Efficiency: With a core of insulating foam and proper installation, steel doors have good energy efficiency.

Durability & Maintenance: Steel doors will not crack or warp and are the strongest, most durable doors available on the market. Steel entry doors are generally low maintenance, but you may see the occasional dent or ding.

Security: The best solution for property owners concerned with building or home security is a steel entry door.

Decorative Options

At Bruin Remodeling Group, we offer many options for the customization of your entry door that will reflect both your personal style and the architectural design of the home. Our knowledgeable team can walk you through the various options such as a single entry door, a single door flanked by sidelites or a grand double entry door. Once you select a layout that suits your home, we will then help you decide between various glass types and layouts, paint colors, stains, grains and hardware.

Installation

Proper installation is just as important as choosing the right door. Even the highest quality door will underperform if it is not installed correctly. Making this mistake can lead to issues like reduced energy efficiency and water leaks which can cause damage to both the door and surrounding structure. At Bruin Remodeling Group, our installers are expertly trained and experienced in replacing even the toughest types of doors. They go beyond just replacing your door, they will replace the entire door frame and finish everything off with interior/exterior custom cut trim of your choice, ensuring a seamless integration with your home's design.
